Have you ever heard anyone say ‘easier done than said’ ?
So, one day my coworker said “is anything easier done than said” and I let him pontificate about this for a while and then I said to him, “silence” and that blew his mind.
NO I HAVE NOT HAD ENOUGH COFFEE TO CONTEMPLATE YOUR PHILOSOPHICAL SHIT TUMBLR STOP THAT
all philosterbating aside, I’ve found Snicket’s take on the old cliche to be one of the most appropriate:
“Just about everything in this world is easier said than done, with the exception of ‘systematically assisting Sisyphus’s stealthy, cyst-susceptible sister,’ which is easier done than said.”

Apologies for the terrible image quality - I’m lacking scanner access at the minute so I had to take these photos on my phone
I was reading hyperbole and a half’s blog entry explaining their experience of depression and decided to make another sketchy comic based on my experiences with anxiety, which is another mental illness I think people tend to misunderstand quite frequently
Hopefully this will be of use to some people - whether they suffer from anxiety themselves or if they just want to know more about it
except I feel like this metaphor is an eensy bit flawed because
y’know
you can just buy an umbrella
they sell them at tons of stores or you could get one online I bet
maybe the metaphor would work better if, like, umbrella vendors in this metaphor-world refused to sell them to wet people??!?!?1

More pixelly album art! (last installment here)
So my sister got me Fall Out Boy’s new album. I just listened to it, and it’s pretty legit. Doesn’t sound anything like their old stuff, together or solo, but it’s still pretty cool. And now I’m even more stoked to see them this summer!
But anyway, when she gave it to me she asked me to make a pixel gif for the album. I was initially not sure it would work—the colors weren’t very bright, after all—but as you can see, it actually turned out rather nice. I especially like the way the center text dissolves away.
Also included are a couple of gifs I made last week. And here’s all the ones from this post and the last one, in their full hi-res glory: clicky
Oh, and a big CONGRATULATIONS to NMH getting back together (on tour, at least)! WOOOOOO!

GOD I can’t wait for SORNE’s new album I cannot WAIT
oh same
my anticipation has been doubled though
coz I told myself I’m not allowed to listen to house of stone again until the new album comes out
I listened to it so fucking much I was afraid I’d get tired of it, y’know

so this is what I’ve been doing instead of studying for my (admittedly easy as fuck) code test.
introducing…pixellated album art. starring four of my favorite albums, at least if you click through to see them all in their high-res glory: here
(I don’t know why they all look like they’re melting towards the bottom left corner. probably something with how paint assigns its pixels when it reduces shit.)
this idea has probably been done before, but hey, I like it. it’s cool to look at and really damn fun to make. I’ll probably make at least a gajillion more before I’m through. okay, maybe only half a gajillion.
if you want to make your own, keep in mind that it works best with pictures with lots of different colors.
oh and if you want me to post a tutorial for this, just let me know.

so I finally fixed my tumblr layout
the old color scheme was just not very pretty
the colors were all clunky and etc.
so anyway my new palette is a lot better I think…it’s called Good Friends, by Yasmino on colourlovers
so yeah now I can look at my own tumblr without wanting to pour salt on my eyes
